Dogs & Accessibility

Our Dogs Policy

Whilst we are great lovers of our four-legged friends, unfortunately, due to the nature of our site, dogs are not permitted in the museum or gardens, with the exception of Assistance & Guide Dogs

We would also please ask owners never to leave their dogs in cars or other vehicles when they are visiting Bressingham.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

Accessibility

We are on a journey to make Bressingham accessible to all!

As a historic site dating back to the 1940s, we have made a number of improvements over the years to make things more accessible to everyone who wishes to visit. There is still a long way to go but features include:

    • Mobility Scooter hire (available for a £5 donation. Please ring up to book in advance as we have limited availability.)
    • Wheelchair hire.
    • Wheelchair user compartments on our Fen Line and Waveney Line trains.
    • Wheelchair user swing.
    • Whistle map. For those who struggle with loud noises, please talk to the ticket staff to get a whistle map for all of our trains. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that this will always specify all whistles, as whistling is part of our running safety features as a live steam museum. But we will do our best minimize unexpected disturbance.
